St Bernard Owners Club Inc

S.B.O.C's aim as a club is to promote and support St Bernard owners at all levels including; pet owners, show owners, obedience owners along with breeders. The club also promotes the breed to the general public through our annual Social and Breed Information day, and also in the media.

How do we do this?.

The club publishes a bi-monthly newsletter sent out to its members. The newsletter covers a broad range of issues that interests St Bernard owners. The clubs newsletter has regular guest writers submitting articles of interest on topics that are relevant to the breed in Australia and internationally. It also contains up coming events, new litters that are available  through registered breeders and along with specials and discounts that club members are entitled through companies that support the club, for example pet foods and grooming.

The club is aiming at putting together a St Bernard Annual  which will be  available to finical members. The annual will  highlight all that has happened during the previous 12 months in Australia and internationally with the breed.

The Club also has a  website, where members are able to keep up to date with SBOC events and information in-between newsletters, there is  also a blog page.

S.B.O.C will aim at having no less than 2 social events per year, aimed at all members. This will be where members and their Saints can get together for a day of activities focused on the breed.

We will also have guest speaker evenings where we will approach top people in there fields to come talk to members on subjects such as hip and elbow scoring, grooming, and breeding, etc. These nights will be focused on topics that our members ask for.

The club will also run an annual specialty breed show, this will be held to promote the breed in the show ring, our first is in the planning for mid 2012.

Our members will promote the Breed at events such as The Royal Easter Show, Pet Fest and other events that the Saint Bernard can be displayed to the general public.

The club promotes the breed within the media, our publicity officer keeps a record of members who would are willing to participate in media events such as television appearances, news paper and magazine photo shoots, movie launches etc.

SBOC is an incorporated association with NSW Fair Trading and is currently in the process of affiliating itself with the appropriate state Canine Councils.
