An Inaugural Meeting was held on 17th August 1978 for the purpose of forming a West Highland White Terrier Club in Victoria.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Bill Burnell with 50 people in attendance.
Mr Burnell spoke on the advantages of having a West Highland White Terrier Club, explaining all the finer points, the Club to be for the betterment of the breed, breeders, exhibitors, owners and all Westie lovers.
The Club celebrated its 25th Year in 2003, quite an achievement, considering that nowadays very few members attend the meetings.
Club Meetings are held every 2nd month. See the Calendar for details. Attendees at these meetings average 8. It is disappointing with the lack of interest shown. The Club needs your help in maintaining our club.
Several Fun Days are held throughout the year - please come along and participate in the events, namely the Pet Expo, Black & White Dog Match at Berwick Highland Gathering and other events which are listed on the Bulletin Board.
Each year the Club holds one Open Show, judged by an Aspiring Judge and a Championship Show, judged by licensed judge.
The Club produces a quarterly newsletter, called the Westie Watch.
Club Plaques are presented each year at the Annual General Meeting for members whose dogs have qualified for Championship Title and/or Obedience Titles.
